Fifth Harmony Swing Into iTunes Top 20 With ‘Sledgehammer’

Budding divas Fifth Harmony have started to blossom and bloom in a big way on iTunes.

Following its release last month, the quintet’s latest single ‘Sledgehammer’ has been surging on the main count of the digital tally in the US. The holidays, however, have brought the Meghan Trainor penned production its most pronounced success yet.

Today has seen the rousing track storm into the top 20 and, with its popularity bars rising, it appears the only direction it’s heading is up.

What has us so excited about the track’s performance is the doors it’ll hopefully open for the songs housed on its parent album, which generally sound much better (see: title track, ‘Going Nowhere’, ‘We Know’).

From where we’re standing, ‘Sledgehammer’ is crafted to serve as a calculated tool to help the ladies break the glass ceiling that too often stagnates new groups. Put simply, it’s inoffensive radio food that will – fingers crossed – allow programmers to see what we’ve been saying that the longest – these girls have “it”.
