Today, fans of ‘Bed of Lies’ performer Nicki Minaj learned that her new album ‘The Pinkprint‘ was to debut at #1 on the ‘Billboard 200’ with an opening figure close to the 180,000 mark.
Modest when compared to units moved by the rapper’s earlier releases, the prediction was published ‘Hits Daily Double‘ who used first day numbers as the basis for their projection.
However, it would seem said numbers may soon find themselves revised thanks to a stocking issue brought to light by her fan base.

While tradition sees most US releases drop on a Tuesday, Minaj surprised some industry spectators last month when she announced she was launch ‘Pink’ on Monday December 15th.
However, it would seem this decision may be to blame for ‘Hits’ prediction. For today has seen a number of the rapper’s fans take to Twitter to reveal that they were unable to purchase the album when they attempted to do so from a number of ‘Targets’, ‘Best Buys‘ and ‘Walmarts‘ across the country.
Horrified? Minaj was too, taking to Twitter to announce:
That’s right, if ‘Pink‘s prediction seemed impossibly low for the rapper…it’s because it was, published before a number of major retailers had even stocked the release!
After learning of the above, some now expect her projected figure to be revised, taking the above drama into account.
Quite interestingly, Minaj’s position atop female Rap’s who’s who list would remain unshaken even if she did move the amount published here.
