Hip Hop royal Drake continues to snap, cackle and pop at and on his critics this week, casting a OVO branded a shadow over his rivals with the release of his surprise mixtape ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.’
For, the project has rocked the Billboard 200 with epic first week sales.
Good news below…
Drake‘s little Valentine surprise, in the form of a 17-track “mixtape” entitled If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late, tops the HITS Building Album Sales Chart with just under 500k for YMCMB/Republic.
The set sees a heightened 541k, however, on the Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart due to a big Spotify look that contributed to nearly 15k in streams. Track sales also contributed over 30k to the album’s final SPS number.
The release comes before his likely departure from the Cash Money music group, and as hismate Nicki Minaj watches her latest studio album ‘The Pinkprint’ cross the half a million units sold milestone less than eight weeks after its release.
The album marks her third in four years and spawned the hit singles ‘Pills N Potions’, ‘Anaconda’, ‘Only’ and ‘Truffle Butter‘, the Deep House jam teasing the rapper’s high-end lifestyle and the luxury items that come along with it…’Truffle Butter‘ being one of them.
Rumours circulating around the net had seen the cut given a cruder definition.
