If ever the definition of irony existed, it would be in a set of recent damning quotes lent from fading pop superstar Miley Cyrus.
The ‘Wrecking Ball’ beauty, busy on the Australian leg of her ‘Bangerz’ tour, may be wrecking headlines today for lifting some NSFW photos to her Instagram page, but the photos come after a slew of NSFW-news featuring Disney’s former darling. The most prevalent being the singer’s Quentin Jones-directed, risque short film ‘Tongue Tied’ – a bondage heavy affair topped off with nipple clamps and riding crops – being removed from this month’s New York City Porn Festival.
While rumors swirl on if she actually ever submitted the film herself, the announcement follows her statements to MAC Viva Glam (her latest endorsement gig) as she dishes on the importance of being a role model for young girls, feminism, etc:
Cyrus on “dressing appropriately”
“I always tell people, I don’t have to wake up and go work in a normal office. I’m able to be free, and my fans are young too.”Cyrus on “Celebrity”
“Everyone is getting Instagram famous, purely because of what they’re wearing, what they look like. You get more likes if your ass looks big, or your titties…it’s crazy. And 15 year old girls are looking at these girls and thinking that’s what they’re supposed to look like, and that isn’t life. People are chasing something that doesn’t exist, a lot of girls.”Cyrus on Feminism
“I’m a feminist because I’m female empowered and I want to give fucking women jobs and I want them out there being leaders and being badass, totally, but I want the same thing for men as well.”Cyrus on Being a Role Model:
“ I think being a role model is about how you are when you’re not being [a certain way] for your fans. Be a role model because you’re a good person, and because you’re a good person you should be a role model. Don’t be a good person because you think you’re a role model.”

The aforementioned quotes were lifted to the web just a week before news surfaced that Cyrus had parted ways with longtime publicist and is now being represented by ID PR – public relations home of Alicia Keys, Frank Ocean, and more. Read more about that here.
Fans who just can’t get enough of Miley will be thrilled to know her ‘Bangerz’ tour DVD hits shelves March 24.
