Rihanna‘s new single, ‘Bitch Better Have My Money,’ may have been panned by critics upon its premiere yesterday. However, it appears the star’s fans have taken the track’s title literally and helped it blast straight to the top of the iTunes tally.
Details below…
After an odd period of downtime on the US digital retailer, ‘Money’ suddenly appeared in the top spot – where it’s been lodged since the earlier hours of this morning.
The bizarre occurrence even has some of the model’s fans scratching their heads, as preceding single ‘FourFiveSeconds’ was received (marginally) better, yet didn’t kick off to as solid a start. Indeed, the Kanye West and Paul McCartney assisted cut didn’t reach the pole position of the chart as quickly upon its release in January.

The numbers don’t lie…or do they? That’s a discussion for another day.
In the here and now, though, chart positions do not dilute the reality that the song is easily one of Ms. Fenty’s worst singles to date. It’ll be incredibly intriguing to see if the track will grow legs to a) sustain longterm and b) carry its parent album, which has been chronically delayed.
