Rihanna Premieres New Song ‘American Oxygen’ On TIDAL

Published: Sunday 5th Apr 2015 by Sam

It’s here!

Rihanna has unleashed ‘American Oxygen’ – the most promising track from her muddled eighth album campaign.

The cut was debuted on TIDAL, Jay Z’s new streaming platform (which he co-owns with the model and artists such as Madonna and Beyonce).

An anticlimactic clutter; so much promise and so little delivery.

Clocking in at over five minutes, we’re left here wondering why the song was so long. It builds towards approximately nothing both on a production and vocal tip and drags drearily.

Its strong hook is drowned in all the superfluous pretentiousness and ultimately sinks what could have been the album’s saving grace from a singles standpoint.

A mess.
