Ciara is all sorts of confident these days.
Last week saw the songstress release her sixth studio album ‘Jackie’ to critical acclaim.
However, per industry sales estimates, the set’s projected first week numbers of 20,000 are indisputably below what many had hoped for the ‘I Bet’ led set.
During an interview with Philadelphia’s Power 99 RNGMS to plug to project’s accompanying tour, the performer was asked directly what her take on the sales were.
What did Ci say? Find out below…
Undeterred, the diva asserted that while she would have wanted more, she is “just getting started” with the project which she deems her “best body of work” to date.
She also reminded that she’s been in the business for over 13 years and that touring the album is her focus; adding that there will be a second leg of the current trek.

Kudos to the interviewer for “going there” and to Ciara for responding with class and honesty.
Some will undoubtedly sharpen their claws, but the reality is that the industry is changing and moving increasingly towards a 360 model which favours touring. Put simply, music is fast becoming merely an advert for “the show.” And with Ci’s primary power resting in her ability as a stage blazer, re-moulding her strategy to focus on that is smart.
What’s more, far too many are neglecting the fact that Ci’s past missteps, politics, and label drama aren’t necessarily “fixable” with just one project or even two. It’s a long and steady road. Thankfully for Ms. Harris, she’s clearly in it for the long haul.
More power to her!
