In news that will come as a crushing blow to Stateside Azaleans, Grammy-nominated rapstress Iggy Azalea has cancelled her headlining ‘Great Escape’ tour.
Not to fret, however, as the announcement was accompanied with reports the saucy Aussie is hard at work on her sophomore project and is eyeing a 2016 release date for it.

An email was sent out to ticketholders on Friday (May 29) letting them know the news.
The Iggy Azalea Great Escape Tour scheduled for this fall has been cancelled and refunds are available at point of purchase,” the email reportedly reads. “There will be a new tour planned around Iggy’s new record to be released in 2016 and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
The tour, slated to kick off Sept. 18 in San Diego, has endured several setbacks since its announcement late last year. After ‘Jealous’ collaborators Nick Jonas and Tinashe dropped from the show’s bill, Azalea pushed back the kick off date of the Stateside trek from Spring 2015 to Fall citing the need for more time to ‘prepare the best show.’
While a specific reason for the tour’s latest postponement has yet been delivered, some are already speculating poor sales and little to no buzz around the outing are to blame.
