It was supposed to be the song of the summer.
Unfortunately, Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea have seen their infectious bop ‘Pretty Girls’ fail to ignite the Billboard Hot 100 after peaking at #29.
Now, after watching many of her own songs surpasses sales of 2 million units in the same market, Iggy has shared her thoughts on why ‘Girls’ failed to fly.
Her thoughts after the jump…
The rapper shared:
Hit the nail on the head.
For one reason or another it’s clear that Camp Britney are no longer interested in pushing the icon as a singles artist as they continue to make bank from her crowd-pleasing Vegas venture.
Unfortunately, this didn’t spell good news for Iggy who was no doubt hoping to use the song to keep momentum for her new album high until the release of its own singles.
Could ‘Girls’ have been a hit if it had been armed with more live performances? Sure.
However, there’s no doubt it would have done more for Azalea than it would have done for Britney who has already proved she is more than capable of launching successful eras without successful singles.
Remember ‘Britney Jean’?
