It looks like third time’s the charm for Atlantan rapper Future.
For, after seeing his first two studio efforts bow in the Billboard 200’s top 10 upon their respective debuts, his third album – ‘DS2’ (in stores now) – has taken the tally’s perch.
Despite forecasts indicating the ‘Move That Dope’ rapper’s project would move less than 100k units its first week, the set has proven naysayers wrong by almost doubling its initial prediction.
See the official numbers below:
First Week Sales: 147,000
121,000 of those units were pure albums sold while the rest were accounted for by streaming points. The numbers not only helped Future notch his first #1, but they come as a first week career high for the rapper whose previous efforts – ‘Honest’ and ‘Pluto’ – sold 53,000 and 41,000 respectively.
Congratz are in order!
