An urban gossip news website has found itself on the wrong side of legal waters this year after sharing footage which is reported to feature the rapper Lil Wayne engaged in an intimate and explicit act.
Full story below…
As his business relationship with the Cash Money music empire crumbles Wayne discovered that the aforementioned website had shared footage from what it claimed to be a Lil Wayne sex tape.
The problem? Wayne is said to have been unaware that such a tape existed prompting his legal camp to swoop down on the site and hit it with a cease and desist letter.
What’s a cease and desist letter you ask? A document sent to a person or a business ordering it to stop engaging in lawful activity (hence cease) and to scare them from doing it again (desist.)
The letter sent by Wayne’s team to the website had this to say:
We hereby demand that you immediately cease the use, exploitation and/or distribution of the video and that you deliver all copies, including electronic copies, of same to us or destroy such copies immediately and that you desist from this or any other infringement of Mr. Carter’s rights in the future.
The footage is said to have been pulled down and investigation into how it was shot (if it really does capture the rapper in personal action) is reportedly underway.
