Adele‘s mind-blowing success with ’25’ quite literally beggars belief.
But, with the final numbers now in, it’s official – the slayage is all sorts of real.
Details below…
Hits Daily Double have confirmed that the LP has capped off its phenomenal launch week by hitting the 3.4 million sales mark in the US. Yes, 3.4 MILLION. The number rises to 3.5 million when factoring in streaming.
Back on home soil, the ‘Hello’ led project hit #1 on the Official UK Album tally with a giant 800,000 copies sold.
Beyond the fact that ’25’ has become the fast selling album EVER in the UK, its numbers in the region are especially epic when considering how small the UK population (despite still being a major music market) is in comparison to the States.
To put into context, Texas (as well as 10 other US states) are bigger than the UK in size. And yet, Ms. Adkins is shifting numbers in Britain (first week) that few American acts are managing to sell total in the US.
Utterly astonishing, utterly deserved. The 27-year-old is not only reviving the industry, she has become one in herself.
