Grammy winning music superstars Lionel Richie and Adele both took their respective megahits, ‘Hello,’ to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 over 30 years apart. But, if what Richie reports is true, they may be sharing a spot on that very chart soon.
After a host of memes and Vine videos jokingly joined the two hits (like that seen above), the ‘Say You, Say Me’ singer says he was inspired to reach out to the diva’s team to coordinate a meeting. That meeting could soon see the duo saying hello in a studio to cook up a new hit:
“You have no idea how many people called me on the phone and said, ‘Are you going to let her get away with that? She stole ‘Hello!” Then I said I don’t own ‘Hello.’ I own the melody.”
