She may have seen her latest album, ’25,’ take a two week hiatus from the top, but this week’s refreshed chart will see powerhouse diva Adele say hello to the perch of the Billboard 200 yet again.
The revisit, which will give the songstress her 8th week at the chart’s summit, came after being ousted by David Bowie‘s posthumously released project two weeks ago. Now, after logging some time at the chart’s runner-up position, Addy is back at it with an impressive 8th week.
Tuck in below to see how many units she moved to reclaim the throne:
8th week sales: 116,000
“The album earned 116,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Jan. 28, according to Nielsen Music (down 21 percent).
In the latest tracking week, 25 sold another 97,000 in pure album sales (down 20 percent), which brings its cumulative sum to 7.94 million in the U.S. It is likely 25 will reach 8 million sold in the next week.”
As she etches closer to diamond status, fans expect Rihanna‘s latest opus – ‘Anti’ – to bring yet another disruption to the ‘Rolling in the Deep’ singer’s reign atop the albums’ chart. How long she’ll be able to hold Addy at bay, however, is what we’re most keen to see.
