Do not cross Beyonce‘s BeyHive.
It’s a lesson many have learnt over the years, yet it’s one that was re-affirmed today.
Remember that protest we reported about; that was set to take place in the wake of the singer’s politically-charged performance of ‘Formation’ at the Super Bowl?
Well, that was today outside NFL headquarters in New York City.
Surprisingly, the organizers of the event didn’t show up (or were perhaps too cowardly to identify themselves.)
Instead scores of Queen Bey supporters turned up and made their voices heard.
More below…
Mashable was on-hand and said of the folk in attendance:
The press starts talking to the counter-protesters about black celebrities, and movements, and the importance of visibility. Bey’s fans are articulate and intelligent, and though they’re here to support art, they’re unmistakably focused on the events that drive it as well.

Yet more proof this this whole ‘Formation’ episode is an genius play by Beyonce.
On one level, her artistic output has sparked global debate and spotlighted important issues that really resonate. As such, its cultural impact far outweighs any chart position (had she chosen to sell it).
From a marketing perspective, it’s setting the thematic tone for the singer’s sixth album cycle and ultimately has her name on everyone’s lips. Very smart marketing.
Again, an almighty…win!
