Despite wielding an accompanying campaign that’s left a few heads scratched and a few egos bruised (see: Tidal), it appears Rihanna‘s ‘Anti’ will still get the last laugh.
As if launching its official lead single, ‘Work,’ to the top 10 of Hot 100 was not enough to make Sam seethe, he’ll be equally disappointed to learn the diva’s 8th opus is headed straight to the top of charts based on official chart sums.
The news comes ahead of the set’s physical premiere in brick and mortar retailers, but after industry analysts predicted it would only move 95,000 its first full week. Proving them wrong like only she can, tuck in below to find out what the songstress’s newly unveiled projection is set to hit:
175,000
(130,000 pure sales)
The set could earn upward of 175,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Feb. 4, which may power the set to a jump to No. 1 on the chart dated Feb. 20. Of that sum, perhaps 130,000 could be in pure album sales.
Anti, which is Rihanna’s eighth studio album, arrived on the chart dated Feb. 13 at No. 27, after being available for only a fraction of the charting week.
Should the album meet or exceed the predictions listed above, it’ll guarantee the placement of her second #1 album on the Billboard 200 as her nearest competitor, Sia‘s new album, is not even on track to pass the 90k mark.
Work Rih!
