‘Anti’: Rihanna Recaptures Top Spot on Billboard 200

Published: Sunday 20th Mar 2016 by Rashad

‘Cheers’ singer Rihanna has yet another accomplishment to toast to this week.

For, as if working up a 4th week at #1 on the Hot 100 and seeing select dates from her much talked about ‘Anti’ tour reach sold out status wasn’t enough, now she’s learned she’s returned to the top of the Billboard 200 as well.

Collecting its second non-consecutive week atop the tally, the project – which has consistently been in the top 5 since its debut (barring its #27 premiere) – moved right on past competitors Justin Bieber, Kendrick Lamar, and more to regain ownership of the #1 title.  Narrowly beating Adele‘s ’25’ for the prize, Rih’s second #1 album (8th overall) continues to prove the naysayers wrong with its staying power and is her first album to nab more than one week at the top.

Rihanna’s Anti moves back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, collecting its second week at the top. The diva’s set earned another 54,000 equivalent album units in the week ending March 17, according to Nielsen Music.

However, as previously reported, the songstress’s newfound tenure at the top will be short-lived due to Gwen Stefani‘s third solo LP.  Read more about that here.
