Nick Jonas is back with a new jam.
‘Close’ was uncaged moments ago and serves as the lead release from the crooner’s second studio album ‘Last Year Was Complicated.’
Due June 10th, the set (which features the likes of Big Sean and Ty Dolla $ign) will be the first commercial test of sorts to see if the pin-up can capitalize on the immense success he enjoyed with ‘Jealous’ and its aftermath.
To aid his cause, he has recruited Swedish star Tove Lo for ‘Close.’
Is a bop that’s destined to blow up?! Listen below and let us know…
Occupying that sweet spot between Urban and Pop, ‘Close’ is commendable and well played effort.
It draws on the minimalism that is all the rage today, while still sounding fresh. Lyrically, it boasts an actual narrative too – which is becoming a rarity.
We do still long for more of a vocal identity from Nick, but pending its arrival (hopefully on the album) he may very well have a multi-format smash on his hands with this.
I think its nice, but after hearing Zayn’s album, Nick will not do as well as I predict Zayne will on the charts. Nick had a great last album, but this new song is a little boring compared to come of his previous hits.
This song isn’t single-worthy.
Um Zayn b******
He had one hot song..
It’s a nice song. However when I hear songs like this, it makes me think of the same minimalistic production behind Ciara’s Dance Like We’re Making Love. Great song, but maybe ahead of this minimalisitic craze. Shame.
*minimalistic.
Love ittt
Nice song
