Just three days after its release, former One Direction beau Zayn Malik is set to see his debut solo album, ‘Mind of Mine,’ head in one direction – up to the top of the Billboard 200.
Indeed, based on the strength of pre-orders alone the album, featuring the #1 hit ‘Pillow Talk,’ ‘It’s You,’ and more, was already forecasted to be the week’s winner before it even hit shelves. Now, after a weekend of availability, industry analysts are confirming what they believe will be an impressive sales week for the dapper divo.
Curious to know how much he’s expected to sell? We thought you’d be…
First Week Sales Projection: 160k-180k
ZAYN’s Mind of Mine—make that MIND OF MINE—is out, and it has been at the top of the iTunes album chart since release on Friday (3/25). That‘s precisely the same spot in which we expect to see the RCA release on the [Albums Chart] this Friday.
The latest projections put the album at 120-130k in sales and 160-180k SPS.
The projected sales performance of the album, though slightly less than originally predicted (based on the strength of pre-orders), certainly ups the ante of expectation for his fellow One Directioners as they ready their solo offerings for release this year and next.
Until then, congratz are certainly in order!
