A case of Twitterfingers has landed Erykah Badu in hot water with many of her fans.

The ‘Incense’ singer is currently facing the “wrath” of Twitter after making a series of tweets in support of an article describing how young girls in a New Zealand school are mandated to wear below-the-knee skirts so as to not distract both male students…and teachers.

Need the full scope of her comments? Tuck in below.

(From bottom to top) Some of Badu’s tweets read as follows:

Naturally, it wasn’t long before Twitter quickly clapped back.

Ultimately, though, the topic served to start a bigger discussion on the safety of young women in schools. The ‘I Want You’ singer still engaged with the disgruntled fans while offering a few sly comebacks of her own.

Why should it be the responsibility of somebody else to help you control your urges?
Even if girl children walked around naked, if there is no consent from one adult to another there is NO sexual activity taking place. No one “entices” anyone into raping them, rapists r*** regardless of uniform length. All people are slaves to their hormones, but ADULTHOOD means getting a grip over yourself. Why on earth should someone else’s irresponsibility in controlling their hormones be a school girl’s inconvenience?

Girl what? I love her, but how is it natural for grown men to be attracted to underage girls in short skirts? The same situation applies to the opposite side of the spectrum, I personally wouldn’t be attracted to a 14 year old boy who walks down the street with the sleeves of his shirt ripped. Y’all are weird as f*** for even thinking of any sexual thoughts when you see an underaged girl in shorts or a crop top. Just goes as far as showing that society has a long way to go if we are to step out of this messed up mindset of r*** culture.

She’s right. Men are wired a certain way. She’s not blaming the girls for anything she’s blaming men fit being men. Girls should be able to wear what they want but they have to be aware that men are watching for that and a lot of those men are prey. She could’ve said it a better way tho.

You mean “A lot of those men are predators, not prey”.

I would love for her to do the “Consideration” remix as a feature. I’m sure it would be fire.

People are soo ignorant and such followers. Read exactly what she is saying before making your simple ass comments. Erykah Badu has always celebrated women taking charge of their sexuality, and being open and honest with the younger generation instead of pretending the world is fluffy and filled with candy. Take your time and read her tweets.
