August Alsina’s second album may have tanked but his debut LP ‘Testimony’ has made silent but serious moves two years after its release.
Good news below…
The LP dropped on April 15th 2014 and opened with 67,000 units on the Billboard 200.
Since then, the project has become somewhat of a “sleeper smash” by creeping to the 500,000 units sold mark shortly before its second birthday.
Sure to surprise those who had written the singer off following the commercial failure of his follow-up ‘This Thing Called Life’, the album’s new RIAA certification automatically makes it one of the highest-selling sets to be released by an R&B newbie.
In fact, the set’s sales have seen it kick Gold dust in the face of Pop efforts launched by Selena Gomez (‘Stars Dance’), Shawn Mendes (‘Handwritten’) Demi Lovato (‘Confident’) and Fifth Harmony‘s ‘Better Together’….without the support of Top 40 radio formats.
