To say the race for #1 on next week’s Hot 100 is tight is quite the understatement.
Just one week after ‘One Dance’ – the latest single from Drake‘s sixth album ‘Views’ – topped the charts (giving the rapper his first leading reign atop the tally), news comes the dapper divo’s run may be abruptly cut due to his ‘Cabaret’ co-star Justin Timberlake.
Indeed, after the latter’s new single, ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling,’ felt its way to the top of iTunes charts shortly after its premiere, reports now have it the tune will be experiencing similar success on the Hot 100.

Via Billboard:
“Based on projected sales provided by industry sources, and streaming and airplay data, collected by Nielsen Music so far in the tracking period, “Feeling,” released a week ago (May 6), could blast onto the Hot 100 (dated May 28) at No. 1.
“Feeling,” written and produced by Timberlake, Max Martin and Shellback and from the forthcoming Trolls soundtrack, could start with a monstrous 330,000 sold or more, while “Dance” could finish the tracking week with 125,000 or more scanned. “Dance,” however, holds a wide lead in streaming: more than 30 million vs. more than 10 million for Timberlake so far. Drake’s song also leads, although less so, in radio airplay audience over Timberlake’s (roughly 60 vs. 50 million).”
If the predictions ring true Timberlake will land his first chart-topper in nearly a decade and 5th overall trip to #1 as a solo artist.
