Justin Timberlake has done it.
Ahead of the premiere of its video, the singer’s latest single ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ has rocketed straight to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Full story on the incredible feat below…
The singer earns his fifth chart-topper with the cut, which is the lead release from the soundtrack of DreamWorks‘ new movie ‘Trolls’ (which he plays the protagonist in).
‘Feeling,’ Timberlake’s first Hot 100 debut, knocks last week’s winner Drake to #2 with ‘One Dance.’
To achieve the feat, the song sold 379,000 US copies in its first week, commanded a Stateside radio audience of 83 million, and earned 15.6 million streams in North America.
The weight of JT’s name multiplied by the track’s made-for-radio flavour meant in many ways it was always destined for the top spot.
With a visual due imminently, it’s fair to say it’s stay at #1 is unlikely to be a short one.
We’re not particularly enamored with the song, but it’s easy to understand why it’s mass appealing.
