Three restaurants owned by the performer Gladys Knight have been raided by Georgia authorities today.

The Empress of Soul launched a chain of Chicken and Waffles restaurants in Atlanta, Georgia after deciding to expand her empire beyond music to become a restauranteur.
Celebrated during an episode of the hit series ‘Man v. Food’, the success story behind these chains has now been slapped by a shocking twist this morning.
For, as customers dined on what their menus have to offer, they were ordered to evacuate their respective areas because they were being raided by agents from the Georgia Department of Revenue.
Why?
Gladys Knight’s son, who runs the operation, is at the centre of an investigation involving $1 million.
Files, computers and other contents were removed from safes in the restaurants once customers were escorted away from the scene.
It’s important to note that the 72-year-old Knight is not involved in the investigation, and that she is expected to reopen all three chains on Thursday.

It always makes me mad when the greedy kids of successful people tarnish their brands. I would have been hot if they made me leave the spot as I enjoyed my deep fried salad and sautéed celery sticks.

Yes girl, deep fried salad is a great vegan alternative to chicken. As a vegetarian I can’t eat chicken so I have mine with a side order of fried egg. It’s divine.

Sounds like tax fraud. Any business or individual that makes more than 40k per year should always be honest with the IRS. They don’t play! However, I’ve eaten at one of her Atlanta restaurants and loved the food. Will definitely go back again.
