Rihanna‘s ‘ANTI’ era has been strange by most counts.
Launched amidst chaos and calamity, the campaign’s staccato roll-out scored a huge win with the release of ‘Work’ – which topped the US charts for 9 weeks.
And yet still, album sales have been so-so. Streaming has been the LP’s saving grace; routinely adding up to 30k to its 9k weekly sales average by way of in equivalent sales-plus-streaming units (SPS).
To combat the critics and maintain a Top 40 presence in the absence of any more ‘Work’-sized hits, RiRi has been releasing singles not found on ‘ANTI.’
The first came in the form of Calvin Harris hit ‘This Is What You Came For.’ And now, she looks set to unleash another.

Last night on iTunes, a banner appeared touting the debut of a new RiRi song named ‘Sledgehammer.’
The track is said to appear on the soundtrack for the ‘Star Trek: Beyond’ movie.
Interestingly,the 28-year-old tweeted what appeared to be lyrics for the song two years ago
Could Ms. Fenty be gearing up to dust off an old song for fresh success?
