The 2016 MTV VMAs may be two days behind us, but Beyonce fans are still praising the diva for her historic night. After nabbing her 22nd moonman (making her the most decorated artist in the show’s history), the ‘Formation’ maestra put down a show-stopping 15 minute performance of hits found aboard her 6th chart-topping album, ‘Lemonade,’ that easily stole the show.
Her showing not only set an almost impossible bar for the rest of the night, but also put that much more pressure on the next performer – Britney Spears – which, as fans know, was already high given her 9 year absence from the VMA stage (see: the shambolic 2007 ‘Gimme More’ performance).
When recently quizzed on her thoughts on MTV scheduling her behind the dynamic Queen Bey, Brit shared some interesting thoughts. Read them below:
Via Zach Sang show:
“I really wasn’t thinking about that,” Spears, 34, said during a radio interview with the Zach Sang Show on Monday, August 29. “I actually had a shadow in front of me and I was looking at the shadow and making little faces with my hands and stuff [backstage]. No, I didn’t even really think about it.”
“[I was] in the Britney zone,” she said on Tuesday. “I got home and realized it was probably too late to talk to them. And then I had a sandwich and talked to my girlfriends. We opened a window to the hotel room because we needed fresh air because we had been in that room for six hours that day and we were just glad that [it] was over.”
