Kesha Asks For Sony-Affiliated Judge To Be Removed From Dr. Luke Case

Published: Wednesday 31st Aug 2016 by David

The Pop princess Kesha was disconcerted when a judge ruled that she could not record music outside and away from Sony Music and her alleged rapist Dr. Luke.

Little did she know that the judge was none other than the wife of a lawyer whose firm represented the label.

Today, the ‘Backstabber’ singer has asked for that judge to step down.

The revelation came as a surprise to the entertainer and her fans last week when an article published by Page Six’ detailed the judge’s alleged ties to corrupt legal activity.

Hours ago, Kesha and Luke’s attorneys met in New York City to discuss the problematic matter, and have asked for Judge Shirley Kornreich to be removed from the case.

At the time of the aforementioned “reveal”, Kornreich’s representatives shared:

Where an employee’s spouse or children are employed, judicial or non-judicial, is not something we are involved in. If counsel for either party has concerns, they can take it up in the proper venue.

This, and the media coverage the questionable coincidence generated, prompted the meeting between Kesha and Luke’s respective legal camps in which they agreed that Kornreich was no longer the right judge for the legal dispute.

Keep it locked on TGJ for more on this developing story.
