Speaking to EW, executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic said:
“She’s not one to do the same thing she’s done in the past. It’s going to be something you’ve not seen her do before. It’s going to separate her from other performances.
It’s amazing [to have her back]. To have her in such great form with a huge hit, she’s super relevant and current—I think the young people watching MTV now are as connected to her as they were back in the TRL days.”
On paper, Brit still has star power in earnest. However, we’ve been duped one too many times with promises of a slay that ended up more dismay…
Still, we’re rooting for her.
The 2016 MTV VMAs airs live from Madison Square Garden this Sunday (August 28th) at 9/8c .
Spears’ 9th album ‘Glory’ arrives two days earlier (August 26th).
