The Weinstein Company has found a collaborator in Jay-Z.
The film studio is behind 2012’s ‘Django Unchained’ as well as ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’ and, after learning of Jay’s forthcoming ‘Emmett Till’ biopic, called on him to create for the company.
He shared:
I’m excited to tell stories from real life prophets, whom through their struggles have changed the world for the better, and others whose stories are filled with fantasy and delight. Harvey and David Weinstein are visionaries both of whom have done this time and time again. I’m already passionate about what we currently have in the pipeline and I’m looking forward to discovering others.
Harvey added:
Jay’s ability to influence entertainment and pop culture has gone well beyond music for many years. He approaches every aspect of his career with both determination and effortlessness, making him one of the leading power players in entertainment history. We already have some exceptional projects in the works and are excited to see what more is to come.
Production on a number of his releases with the studio has already kicked off.
An elated David Glasser, the company’s COO, had this to say about their creative union:
Jay Z is an entertainment mogul with an unparallelled sense of the industry and limitless creativity. It’s an incredible opportunity to be able to collaborate with him as we continue to grow our TV division and look towards many more opportunities to create fresh content.
Nobody is checking on Tidal. That’s why! ??????
This is tv and not for tidal….READ THE DAMN ARTICLE. Jay is not starving because of Tidal, get a grip sis and stop hating on the TOKEN BLACK MAN.
“COINS!” – Blue Ivy
“Yeah, baby, more coins…have you spent those coins Rih sent to you?” – Bey
“Not yet.” – Blue Ivy
“OK, baby…those are ANTI receipts.” – Bey
lol
Kudos to Jay. QTNA; Why are people always bashing Tidal? Its like we as people can no longer appreciate the process of SUCCESS. I personally believe that its incredible for J and co to own a streaming company and moreso the process of them trying to make Tidal pop is great. So far we have gotten concert specials, and even a fashion show. Who knows what will come next. Quicker you’re here, the faster you’re gone…
People hate on tidal because if tidal succeeds then it will be the success of a black man that we are supporting. Tidal isn’t political in case you haven’t noticed. The money is going back into the pockets of they owners who are majority black and urban artists aka the culture. White people don’t understand culture so they hate on anything they didn’t start or can’t be a part of.
Gotta hav something to fall bk on..
Get $$$
It’s always the welfare people who comes for Bey’s and Jay’s necks whenever they are doing something to expand their empires. The thirst is real.
Good for Shawn Carter aka jay-z
