A blast from the not too distant past has given Bruno Mars‘ comeback a potent power-up.
Indeed, congratulations are in order because the crooner, who is currently plugging the title track of new album ’24k Magic,’ has scored a huge touchdown.
And it all centres on 2014’s mega-smash ‘Uptown Funk,’ which has just reached a major milestone.

According to the RIAA, the Mark Ronson production has been certified Diamond for US sales in excess of 10 million. It’s only the second song ever (in the Soundscan era) to reach such status).
Per the awarding body, the track actually sits at 11 million:

In an era where streaming rules the roost and sales (both of the singles and album persuasion) are on the wane, this is huge.
Armed with the success of ‘Funk,’ all eyes will now be on whether ’24k Magic’ (due Nov. 18th) can yield a like-sized hit.
