Lady Gaga has done it.
The superstar singer will officially open atop of the Billboard 200 this week.
With initial estimates rising over the course of the week, all eyes are on where the diva’s fifth studio effort bowed.
Well wonder no more because the numbers await below…
According to Hits Daily Double, ‘Joanne’ drummed up a sales + streaming first week figure of…
199,000 [SPS]
[168,000: Pure Sales]
The number represents a lead of over 100k from Gaga’s nearest competitor Michael Buble.
Beyond the album’s strong performance on the pure sales front, the various layers of its streaming push have certainly come in handy.
On the one hand, there’s the Bud Light Dive Bar Tour that was streamed to thousands on Facebook. While the viral effect of ‘Carpool Karaoke’ gifted individual songs a sales boost, momentum that would ultimately go on to benefit the album.
Of course, there’s the ultra official numbers from Billboard/Nielsen due imminently. There’ll be reported in Rashad‘s next Chart Check.
More times than not, there’s next to no movement in the numbers. That said, it’ll be interesting to see whether the figure is rounded up or down.
Whatever the case, it’s a touchdown for next year’s Super Bowl Halftime headliner. Especially given all the factors.
