After a two-year musical hiatus, Brit crooner Ed Sheeran arrives with two new singles, ‘Shape of You‘ and ‘Castles On The Hill.’ Both are lifted from his third studio album ‘÷ / divide.’
The track ‘Shape’ finds Sheeran uttering lyrics of infatuation with a woman’s body over a Caribbean-inspired beat. While ‘Castles’ sees the red-head singer get nostalgic as he reminisces on simpler times in his hometown of Framlingham, Suffolk.
Hear them both below for yourself…
We approve. Do you?
Sheeran’s last critically acclaimed effort, ‘X,’ was released in 2014. Before that, he delivered his debut ‘+‘ in 2011. Continuing his mathematic fetish, his latest effort will be known as ‘÷.’
Your thoughts?
Both generic that will probably set the charts alight. Both Ed and Ellie had sounds the were kind of unique to them but have taken the same rate as everyone else.
Shout out to all those artists who are still on their grind serving up music true to themselves
BLAND AND BORING. Will this guy work with an interesting producer instead of making music for 60 year olds
Sooo dope! All I need now is Sam Smith. Ed stated SoY was originally intended for Rihanna but kept it for himself.
And I miss the way
You make me feel
And it’s real
Beautiful lyrics about brotherhood and friendship! Love when male artists can be REAL and vulnerable instead of “freaks in da cluuuub” all the time #CastleOnTheHill
Boring and played. And he had the nerve to think Rihanna would want shape of you. That ish got rejected so quick.
It may be boring and basic but it’s still going to sell.
Yeah…I think I’m done waiting on mainstream artists to deliver the goods. I’m going underground for music.
