Well, at the time, many assumed it was for the soundtrack to the singer’s new movie ‘A Star Is Born.’ And with good reason.
After all, her fifth album ‘Joanne’ just hit stores and the 30-year-old promised material for the Bradley Cooper flick.
Now, a new report, has folk thinking otherwise.

While this may seem shocking, it’s actually a very logical marketing move – what she’ll forgo in direct payment, she’ll make up for with valuable exposure. With Lady Gaga’s new album slated for early October ‘17, over 100 million viewers won’t hurt her sales.

Hmm.
It’s imperative to stress that, if indeed true, this could still be tied to a project beyond her “Pop” playground (i.e. the movie).
But how interesting would that it be if she really was gearing up to get her “album a year” on?
The blended eras that were ‘The Fame’ and ‘The Fame Monster’ made clear her narrative need not follow the “norm.” So why not play by her own rules?
What’s more, it could, perhaps, give those who didn’t enjoy ‘Joanne’ (and all its Country, Americana leanings) something to look forward to.
