Ed Sheeran‘s comeback single, ‘Shape of You,’ has shaped up to be quite the unmovable hit. Sharing billing with the less successful ‘Castle on the Hill’ as the dual lead release from his hotly selling third LP, ‘Divide,’ ‘Shape’ is proving to be the real tenant of the Hot 100 ‘castle.’
For, after topping the chart for six non-consecutive weeks, this week saw the tune etch its name in the #1 spot for a 7th by garnering the highest of all components that make up the chart’s placements: digital song sales, streaming, and radio airplay.
