From the 90’s through to the mid 00’s, Gwen Stefani dominated the Pop landscape – both as a member of No Doubt and as a solo force.
A lengthy hiatus would follow, yet didn’t quell excitement for her third solo offering.
Sadly, despite a sizeable launch campaign, the project (2015’s ‘This Is What The Truth Feels Like’) fell pancake flat. It yielded no notable hits nor shifted any significant units.

She joined ‘The Voice,’ saw her divorce play out publicly, went public with new bae Blake Shelton, and racked up endorsement after endorsement. Put simply, she’s winning – even if her music and tours aren’t.
Hoping to parlay this renewed popularity into the success of her material, Stefani has returned to the studio.

The days of ‘Rich Girl’ and ‘Hollaback Girl’ slayage may be long gone, but she still has a cool artistic proposition. Indeed, though her last LP was largely uneventful, it did point in an enjoyably mature direction. One she can certainly build on moving forward.
