Celine Dion has belted countless classics in her time and at this year’s Billboard Music Awards she’ll celebrate her most notable.
For, the French-Canadian diva will take to the stage to perform the iconic ‘My Heart Will Go On.’
The showing will take place in honor of the song’s 20th anniversary.
In a statement, the legendary star said:
“This song means a lot to me, and it has played such a huge role in my career. I’m so grateful to the late James Horner, and to Will Jennings, for writing it and creating the opportunity for me to be part of Titanic, an amazing film whose legacy will continue for generations to come. It’s a great honor to have the opportunity to perform it at the Billboard Music Awards’ international stage, in celebration of the film’s 20th anniversary.” [Source]

very sad movie.
So is your life
Her status as one of the world most known vocalists was further cemented by “My Heart Will Go On” and the effect that song had on people, it was not just the movie, that soundtrack was stellar too, the combination of the greatest masterpiece in the history of filmmaking at that time and one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created is still to this day a rarity, both the soundtrack and the film are of a subliminal beauty unmatched till this day. Dion gave her best while recording that song, I suppose there was magic in the recording studio that day.
I have a thing for Ms dion shes all that. That song was very sad but she sang it so gracefully
Time for a rihanna sweep!
I hope not her flat alto isn’t where it’s at!!! ??♂️
Many have tried, but absolutely nobody has been able to even come close to have the monumental global impact and success with a song for a film Celine Dion with “My Heart will Go On” and Whitney Houston with “I will always love you” had. Nobody. Granted nobody since Whitney, Celine and Mariah has appeared with a voice like THAT.
I won´t give a list of names who have made songs for films but… hmm just an example is Leona Lewis when she was first having really big success and they gave her the song for Avatar (no less, the most successful film ever since Titanic). And still, it went nowhere.
You’re right! I love Bey and Adele, but they couldn’t touch Celine or Whitney with Listen or Skyfall, I think nobody will, those songs are iconic.
I like I See You from Leona Lewis though.
Listen??? LOLOL Nope, you´re right. Listen is not even on that basic Britney Spears song for that film she made when she was huge among teens success wise. (see? Another example, not even the mega seller around that time Britney could make anything with that), The most important thing is that Whit, Mimi and Celine were the last ones to have that monumental appeal vocally wise to achieve that type of global success.
LOL @Johnvidal. Your fav Gags tried (and failed) to create iconic ballads with Million Discounts. At least Halo and Listen got COVERED A LOT on singing shows. IWALY, MHWGO and Listen are talent shows staples. Anybody who can sing those songs perfectly will go viral. Speaking of Listen, literally any singing show will try that song. From US all the way to S. Korea. You know what’s even more impressive? The song didn’t even chart at #50 in US and did radio even play it? While your fav tried to gain back the GP by becoming ‘a vocalist’ this era. But now she switched to basic pop songs that she made in 08-09.
LOLOLOL B*** hurt delusional Beyonce fan. As expected. Do you actually believe Listen is anywhere near those two mega songs?????????????? LOL Many many people around the world don´t know Listen. Evberybody knows the other two.Get your head out of Beyonce ass. Beyonce cannot sustain a career based on ballads. She´s not that good. People don´t care about her voice like that. I´m shocked at your reaction. Listen is nowhere near those songs. Listen is like Britney´s song for her film, Xtina´s songs for films, I see you by Leona Lewis, and soooo many songs made for films. None of them reached any special success or impact. Beyonce´s classics are Single Ladies and Crazy in Love. End of story. Gaga had nothing to do with this btw because we were talking about songs made for films (oh wait she didn´t do that bad with that one she actually CO-WROTE last year, instant oscar nomination and almost win, and of course standing ovation for the second year in a row in that stage), and because Lady gaga is not my favorite. Leave your retarded stan wars for basic people like you. Please don´t include me 🙂
Listen at MHWGO level at… anything! LMAO I seriously have read it all. It´s like when Marvel fanboys tell me Winter Soldier should have got Best Screenply awards LMAO
