After delighting fans with visuals for ‘Haters’ and ‘Way Back,’ veteran R&B group TLC is back to serve up yet another sample from their forthcoming self-titled album.
Titled ‘American Gold,’ the timely release tackles tougher subject matter than its lighthearted predecessors. An anthemic piano driven number, the patriotic tune sheds light on a number of social issues plaguing the country at the time.
‘Gold’ will be one of many gems found on the group’s final album, due in stores June 30th. Hear it below:
Your thoughts?
I’ll be buying their new album.
Wayyy better than anything they’ve released so far. I like it!!
It’s a step up from the two previous releases. I like it.
My fave thus far! Even tho the other 2 have grown on me. I can’t believe “HAters” is…think it was the positive video
:sips truth tea:
I thought this was a throw-away album until I heard American Gold. This song restored my faith in T-Boz’s writing abilities. I was worried after I heard that “It’s Sunny, Everybody sing Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba” crap they put out this year. This right here sounds like the girl that wrote Dear Lie, Unpretty, and Champion.
Finally a worthy single. I hope they are able to do a decent video. This is the ONLY time I wish they had a label behind them, b/c this song has huge hit potential and would soar with serious dollars behind it.
This HAS to be a single. I love this tune.
Sounds good to me…
Now THIS…..is a TLC song! Classic! Love it!!!!! This has to be a single. Hit written all over! Great production. Needs a great video!
Love this song on first listen!
It’s cute.
I wish it sounded more r&b, but it does sound better than the other songs. I’ll admit “Way Back” has gotten stuck in my head a few times, mainly because of the vocals.
