JAY-Z is pulling out all the stops to ensure the release of his new album ‘4:44’ is an event.
At the strike of midnight, the mogul’s latest offering will be made available on his streaming service TIDAL and for all Sprint customers after the phone giant bought into the platform.
However, it’s been revealed that the Rap titan also has an unprecedented radio strategy.
According to Hits Daily Double, all iHeart Pop, Urban and Rhythm radip stations will be playing ‘4:44’ album in its entirety at midnight. And again at numerous points over the weekend. Word on the curb is that, despite the amount of stations involved, secrecy surrounding project means programme directors have yet to hear what they’ll be playing.
As for digital strategy, sources close to the roll-out claim the TIDAL exclusive is slated to last one week and thereafter the LP will be made available on all platforms.
Exciting times.
Classy
This this can make or break his rap career if it flops he will not hear the last of it….. I’m going to buy it… curious to hear what jay have to say this time
How could it “flop” when he controls the numbers at Tidal. He can say it streamed for whatever x amount and no one would know. Just like Lil Kim sold a zillion copies of her Paypal album…no one knows the real numbers except Lil Kim.
This is JAY FREAKING Z. He doesn’t care if it flops. The man is a mogul.
Ok enough old man
Old man that keeps SELLING HIS PRODUCTS!! ?
This is not power, his using his power to make this happen, very different, they’re not playing his music for free.
Mess. This is taking payola to a whole new level. Between him buying his airplay & sales and that woman he married buying her awards, they’ve got to be the most fraudulent couple in music history.
This is a brilliant payola move. Great business tactic
This n i g g a is a trip. Spending all these coins to make us listen to his latest album. He must really be shook if he’s willing to call in favors from Oscar winning actresses and pay off all these media outlets to make sure he succeeds. This s*** betta sell 1 million first week or it’s a FLOP!
When was the last time Janet sold a million in the first week? Hell, when was the last time a Janet album sold a million, period?
get her!
I think other website owners should take this site as an model,
