Published: Tuesday 29th Aug 2017 by Sam

Beyonce’s star may have shot into the stratosphere, but home has always been where the heart is. And now more so than ever.

As widely reported, Hurricane Harvey has wreaked havoc on her hometown of Houston – leaving thousands ravaged by flooding and homelessness. Some victims have even died.

Like millions the world over, the 36-year-old has been touched by the events and is promising support for those affected.

Her words below…

In an exclusive statement to the Houston Chronicle, Knowles-Carter said:

“My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help.

I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor (Rudy Rasmus at St. John’s in downtown Houston) to implement a plan to help as many as we can.”

Much respect to Bey for using her platform and power for such an important cause.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with all those affected.
