Rihanna may be on a hiatus of sorts, but it doesn’t mean she’s not working.
Quite the contrary.
Because, according to a notable name, the Bajan sensation is baking new music.

The tea was poured by Diplo, who recently hit headlines when he and the model traded “nice-nasty” jabs over a collaboration he wants that she doesn’t seem as keen on.
Nevertheless, he assures that all is well and that the pair are in a great place. So much so that they are indeed in discussions – now that work is underway for the follow-up to 2016’s ‘ANTI.’
His verbatim statement was:
“We talked a little bit because she’s writing a lot of new music right now for her next project and, hopefully, we can connect.” [Source]

Writing, like live singing, has never really been her forte. But, hey, we welcome all growth.
As for the creation of “R9”, it certainly provides a blank slate to do-over everything that was wrong with the pre-release of ‘ANTI.’
Sure, she was able to finesse her way to securing a couple of hits, but there’s no erasing the messiness surrounding ‘FourFiveSeconds,’ ‘American Oxygen,‘ the ‘ANTI Diary’ and everything else that preceded ‘Work.’ There’s also that slap-in-the-face Platinum plaque and half-empty stadiums on her tour.
All that aside, she’s smartly clawed back some of her commercial clout by being a part of ‘Wild Thoughts’ – one of this year’s biggest hits.
Will she be able to leverage this towards the success of her next LP? Also, what will her album sales look like in today’s climate? Will her Stream Queen status work in her favor or highlight how few are (arguably) willing to purchase her product?
