On December 15th 2005, the Hip-Hop empress Remy Ma released the single ‘Conceited.’
Shortly after, it peaked at #90 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Fortunately, that modest peak position has done little to harm the cut’s impact on Pop culture.
Good news below…
This week the song surpassed the 2 million streams marker on Spotify and now sits at the 2.2 million point thanks to support she garnered following her release from prison.
Though a far cry from the Herculean numbers earned by her Hip-Hop sibling Nicki Minaj, Ma’s Spotify stats are noteworthy as her last solo studio album was released before the widespread popularity of the now unavoidable iTunes and streaming platforms.
This is why her highest-streamed cut to date is her Fat J0e-backed cut ‘All the Way Up‘ which stands tall with 121 million spins to its name.
We look forward to seeing what Ms. Ma’s next studio set will sound like and how her team, undoubtedly aware of her potential, will replicate the sizzling song’s digital success.
