Congratulations are in order for Lady Gaga.
For, just days after current album ‘Joanne’ was certified Platinum, the same honor has been bestowed upon her 2013 effort ‘ARTPOP.’

Confirmation came courtesy of US awarding body, the RIAA, who also revealed that the feat now means that all of Gaga’s solo albums have received Platinum plaques (or higher):

With pure sales of the project stalled around the 800k mark, streaming no doubt added the extra gas to power the LP to the million mark.

We’re elated, because ‘ARTPOP’ – as an album – is wholly deserving. Far too many are quick to dismiss material because of the circumstances it arrives under. A reality which makes the mass crucification of the album as ‘Artflop’ understandable, yet still grossly unfair.
Sure the management switch, questionable quotes, and all-round disarray of the era are difficult to deny. But none of the aforementioned can dilute the reality that the project packs some of Gaga’s most hard-hitting work. Tracks such as ‘Applause,’ ‘Do What U Want,’ and ‘Venus’ can’t be denied.
If anything, we’d love for her to re-engage with the more of this Pop/Urban leaning sound.

No real sales. And I disagree with Artpop, I think is her worst album after The Fame, I hate it.

Most of the sales for this album are from pure sales anyway. So this is amazing. She is amazing too….
I actually like this album, for me it’s better than ‘Born This Way’.
Several songs from this album are definitely great. Sexxx Dreams, do what U Want, the choruses of Venus and Aura and so on. Especially when performed accoustically, which is where great songs shine sometimes.
I thought this was a good album and got undeservedly panned. To me Sexxx Dreams could have been a major hit, and I have no idea why her label didn’t release and push that record.
lol streaming accounts for how much of that though? certifications mean nothing now, not really a feat. when Whitney, Madonna, Janet etc were doing 20 mill plus on sales alone. GTFO
Artpop is an underrated album by far.
Some of it’s songs like Swine, Manicure, Do what you want, G.U.Y, Applause and Donatella are really good.
Call me whatever, I love Artpop more than Born this Way!
