Danity Kane fans have had to endure not one but two dis-bandings – the latter of which was all sorts of acrimonious.
Indeed, it the the trio incarnation of the group implode and police called when Dawn Richard punched Aubrey O’Day in the back of her head. All the day before members were set to shoot the video for ‘Lemonade’ and months before (what ended up being) their last album ‘DK3’ arrived.
In the time since, Richard has resumed her solo hustle, while O’Day and Shannon Bex pressed ahead as whimsical Pop duo dumblonde. Neither side has spoken overtly of the other, sans a few shady comments in interviews.
Still, could time be the ultimate healer that brings about another DK reunion?

It all started when Dawn posted a throwback clip of herself performing during the group’s 2014 run:
We saw this and immediately thought “hmm,” given that all involved have largely avoided anything Danity Kane related in the years since.
Fans too picked up on it and commented as such. Dawn’s response seemed optimistic:
“It’s never nah”?
That’s very different to the “hell nah” teas all the ladies were giving in the immediate aftermath of the 2014 split. Which, in context, is understandable.
Here at TGJ we’ve always drilled our belief that the group played themselves by squandering their last run. They’ve always been a “supergroup” and, even as an indie operation last go round, were really making movements and magic (‘Lemonade’ is lowkey iconic and the album that followed was solid). So we’ve always viewed it as their collective fault for letting pettiness bring their comeback train to an abrupt halt.
As for another run, we’re here for it. Perhaps more as a farewell tour than anything else. Closing the chapter on a high rather than the tabloid low that currently defines their end. It also needn’t be the “end-end’ either. Touring is where many current and legacy acts continue to thrive and we feel there’ll always be an audience for DK.
That’s not to overlook the obvious hurdles attached to convincing folk to invest in something thing that seems so prone to break. But, at the same time, there’s too much talent in the DK fold for it not to be an attractive prospect.
Make it happen, ladies.
