Mariah Carey’s Ex Manager Issues Statement On Split

Published: Tuesday 7th Nov 2017 by Sam

After a brief window of speculation, it is official – Mariah Carey has split from manager Stella Bulochnikov.

Their controversial union yielded many a memorable moment – not all of which were positive.

Indeed, despite upping the diva’s visibility on the touring and film circuits, Bulochnikov reportedly steered Mimi into reality TV with the much-panned E! soap series ‘Mariah’s World.’

There were also a slew of fire-filled interviews and quotes that left many in the industry mulling the professionalism of whoever was at the helm of Camp Mariah.

Now, with news of the break-up doing the rounds, Bulochnikov has issued a statement.

Her words below…

Via her rep:

“After working together for almost three years, Mariah Carey and Stella Bulochnikov have determined that it is in their mutual best interest to part ways on day-to-day management. During their time working together, they have accomplished great things, including, most recently, Mariah Carey’s new music and motion picture projects for this upcoming holiday season. Mariah Carey and Stella Bulochnikov remain partners in a number of business ventures, and will continue to support each other in those endeavors.”

As for the ventures mentioned, there’s animated movie ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ (for which Carey and Bulochnikov are both listed as executive producers).

There’s also the singer’s autobiographical series that the duo were prepping at Starz, with Brett Ratner at the helm. However, with the famed director caught in a scandal of his own, it’s safe to assume the project is either on hold or indefinitely dissolved.

*********

In any case (and echoing earlier sentiments), this development gifts Mariah the chance to start afresh (again).

Crucially though, any such change has to begin with… “her.”

Because, Stella’s polarizing antics aside, the reality is that Mariah has raced through a variety of managers in recent years – including, but not limited to, Red Light, Randy Jackson, and Jermaine Dupri.

Note the common denominator? Mariah Carey

She has the talent and legacy to reclaim respect and make a renewed impact. She’s simply tasked with cleaning up her brand and delivering music, visuals, and live offerings that are becoming of her legendary status.
