It’s here!
After ample teasing, Ashanti has hatched comeback track ‘Say Less.’
With an eye on the top spot, the R&B chanteuse has tapped Ty Dolla $ign to feature on the cut, which was produced by DJ Mustard.
Have the collective conjured up a hit? Listen below and let us know…
Catchy and easily the most radio ready offering Ashanti has dropped in years.
That said, it’s not without its issues.
Lyrically and structurally, the track is a little all over the place. Strong hooks are paired with weak ones, and the chorus is hard to identify in the midst of all the busyness.
Still, much worse has gone on to do well. So, if paired with a slay video and given a neater, more concise edit, this could do a lil’ something on the R&B format.
Yesssssss my bihhhhh is back!!! & ready to slay per usual ??????
Its cute but it leaves a lot to be desired
ok Shan!! I like
Its not bad i wish ashanti would let someone write for her sometimes. In the song she needed more words to fill in those gaps shes talented but this sounds like her old songs.
issa NO from me for this Instagram model thot ?
It’s a grower but radio won’t play it enough to make it grow on anybody
At first listen, Issa no for me. Catchy and radio friendly are one thing, but elementary and weak (for a comeback) are another
This song sounds like somebody else 3rd or 4th single. It don’t swing hard enough fresh out the gate
Sorry shan
Who is that? i don’t know her tbh
the song is a cheap mess tho …
Not feeling it but TGJ talm bout weak hooks but support Nicki Minaj??? ???
EXACTLY!! ??♂️
Was expecting way more
It’s average at best. Rather heard the other song Lose Yourself. That sounded interesting and exciting. Mya’s Ready For Whatever single is better than this.
Yea I’m going to pass AGAIN!!
It’s ok, I prefer the Foolish, Rock wit U, Only U, Baby, Rain on me, Happy Ashanti. She and Irv need to put their differences aside and get back in the studio. This is coming from a die hard fan. I want her to win.
Can’t agree more!! Huge fan but she is better than this mediocre music. Like girl you have a Grammy!
Issa no from me sis. Zero substance. Too ole to be making teenage bops. No space for basic on my playlist. NEXT
It’s a bop, which is all I was looking for it to be.
What the hell is “Issa?” Were you, perhaps, aiming for “it’s a…?” Inner city buffoonery.
This s*** poppin’! So fire! I’m obsessed, she’s back ahhhhh!
No, no, no. This is foolish.
