Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ Has Already Sold Over 400,000…In Pre-orders Alone

Published: Sunday 5th Nov 2017 by Rashad

Taylor Swift‘s new album ‘Reputation’ does not officially arrive in stores until November 10th yet reports have indicated it’s already laying claim to the title of “best first week sales by a female” for the year.

That’s right, the set – which features the top 20 singles ‘Gorgeous,’ ‘Ready for It,’ and the #1 hit ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ – is looking to have a very impressive liftoff if reports are to be believed.

Details inside:

Pre-orders for Taylor Swift’s “reputation” have reached more than 400,000 units and the album has become Target’s biggest music pre-sale of all-time.

Big Machine Records told The Associated Press on Friday that pre-orders for Reputation, to be released Nov. 10, are double the number of pre-orders for Swift’s 1989 album a week before its release in 2014.

The pre-order number includes purchases at iTunes, Target, Walmart, Amazon and Swift’s website. Target also confirmed Friday that Reputation is its largest music pre-sale ever. [source]

As her last three albums – ‘1989′ (2014), Red’ (2012) and ‘Speak Now’ (2010) – all sold 1 million copies in their first week of availability respectively, Swift could be well on her way to extending that historic record by making ‘Reputation’ the fourth.

While we await news on that, what we can say with certainty is that Taylor has not only already bested Pink‘s ‘Beautiful Trauma’ for the year’s best first week sales by a female, but also the year’s best first week (pure) sales overall.  The pure sales record was also held by Pink, who saw her last album top the charts with 384,000 pure sales.  Click here to read more on that.
