Azealia Banks is in a remorseful mood.
The unpredictable rapper has slammed many an artist with reckless abandon – ultimately leading to the burning of countless bridges.
Perhaps in a bid to repair them, the New Yorker has been publicly expressing regret. And now, Beyonce is her latest focus.
While at one time it appeared a collaboration between the two was nigh (anyone remember ‘Ratchet’?), recent times have seen Banks brandish Bey a “thief” following the release of ‘Lemonade.’
What does she have to say now? Find out below…
From the desk of Azealia Banks:
@beyonce, I apologize for throwing tantrums in the past. They totally came from a place of feeling left out.. you’ve inspired so much of the way I think about/value you myself as a performer and I ADORE you. Your presence in the art world and on earth is supernatural and and am so so so inspired by you. YOU DESERVE THE BEST. You deserve the finest things in life AND FINEST ART the art world has to offer. What’s mine is yours… anything you want of my art, etc YOU CAN HAVE. I would give you the clothes off of my back girl!! Thank you for always making the little black girl in me smile?. You’ve truly always been a beacon of light for me and I’m so so humbled by this.
Love,
Azealia
The letter came after Bey posted a pic with the caption CHICHI GET LLELLO.
See, the line is a popular one from the movie ‘Scarface’ — but is also a lyric from Banks’ song ‘Chi Chi.’
What Bey was referring to is unknown. Yet, what is is certain is that it prompted the femcee to try and make amends.
As we enter the New Year, our hope for Azealia is that she lets her music do the talking.
It remains to be seen whether she can salvage any of her earlier buzz, but she can still enjoy a respectable presence should she proceed without self-baked controversy.
