It’s official!

Unleashed as a surprise on November 30th, the BeyMix of the ‘÷’ track arrived at a time when the original sat at #3 on the chart.
While rules vary region to region, in the US it’s the version that sells best that week that becomes the credited version.
Hence, why the duet has snatched the #1 spot.
‘Perfect’ achieved the feat on the back of combined 181,000 US downloads, a radio audience of 102 million, and 35 million Stateside streams. The remix accounted for 62% of song’s performance.
For Ed, this serves as his second Hot 100 win (and second from the same era), following the chart-topping success of ‘Shape Of You’ earlier this year.
As for Queen Bey, ‘Perfect’ becomes her sixth solo #1 and her 10th overall.

Cuts that have come close include ‘Drunk In Love’ in 2014 and this year’s ‘Mi Gente’ remix – which peaked at #2 and #3 respectively.
The unorthodox all-at-once roll out’s of the diva’s recent albums has seen her pivot away from working “singles” in the traditional sense. So much so that the songs that have gone on to succeed commercially (such as ‘Formation’) have essentially done so organically (once entire project is out).
But with a slew of recent top 10’s under her belt and now a #1, will Mrs Carter push for more success on that front as she gears up for B7?
In the meanwhile, what are…
