TIDAL isn’t tapping out of the streaming rat race any time soon.
Indeed, despite rumors of cash-flow issues, JAY-Z‘s much talked about platform just took a major stride in the right direction.
Full story below…
Today TIDAL made its surprise debut on both Apple TV and Android TV.
In doing so, the services will allow their respective subscribers access to TIDAL’s entire library of music along with video content such as concerts, livestreams, and music videos directly on their TVs.
TIDAL’s expansion into the television arena gifts the company a competitive advantage over the likes of Spotify, which doesn’t have a dedicated app on the aforementioned services.
The move comes after TIDAL recently rolled out support for Apple’s CarPlay and integration with Sonos speakers. [Source]

Kudos.
We keep saying it, but if TIDAL can pivot its core proposition, it may be able to weather the storm and last the distance.
So instead of being a music streaming service that also broadcast video, it should brand itself as a platform for concerts, livestreams, and videos – that also streams music.
