Iggy Azalea‘s 2017 was tumultuous to say the least.
The upper half of the year saw the rapstress rocked by headlines of nonperforming singles, official news her long-awaited sophomore album – ‘Digital Distortion’ – was pulled from her label’s release schedule, and later fans learned she parted ways with longtimehome Def Jam all together.
The latter half was a bit more forgiving, however. Taking to Twitter in November, Azalea not only teased fans with buzz tracks and informed that she was hard at work at an entirely new sophomore album (titled ‘Surviving the Summer’) but also told that new music from the set should arrive at the top of 2018.
Now that we’ve arrived to the time specified, Iggy’s confirming that things are moving right on schedule:
No word on if the new music will be HQ versions of songs she released last year or not, but, as always, we’re keen to hear what Iggy Iggz has cooked up. We’ll be the first to ‘Digital Distortion’s first few cuts – ‘Team,’ ‘Mo Bounce,’ and ‘Switch’ – were definitely underserved as each was a bop in its own way.
Here’s hoping her next release fares better.
